It’s been my pleasure to shine a light on Canadian design talent like Mary Young and Mani Jassal. There’s so many great things happening here in Toronto and I really want to make an effort to share the beautiful work of as many emerging designers as I can so please meet another one of my favorites: Beaufille.
New year, who dis?
I know I said here that I’m not into New Years Resolutions and I’m still not into the idea of them but I’m a sucker for goal-setting and self improvement and the start of a new year just feels like the right time to look at life, see where I’m at, and what I’d like to work on.
I love you guys a lot and as part of this special lil connection we’re building I promise to always keep it real with you guys and that includes admitting when I’m struggling a little. As some of you may have noticed I usually try to post about every 5 days or so and if I go much beyond that it probably means that I’m out here floundering, LOL. #Help
“Do you remember where we first met?” Cameron Wilson asked me in the midst of our photoshoot. I thought about it for a moment. I knew we had gotten acquainted through Instagram but where had we met in person? I remembered him spotting me a few weeks prior on the patio of this little restaurant on West Queen West. “Java House?” I replied, unsure of my answer. “No, three years ago at the Coco and Breezy pop up shop at Jacflash,” he said. “Wow! Really?” I exclaimed, surprised he remembered me from our chance encounter in 2012 when NYC eyewear designers and twin sisters Coco and Breezy held their event at a now defunct fashion boutique. I couldn’t believe I had crossed paths that long ago with one of the co-founders of Toronto streetwear brand and internet darling, Untitled & Co.
On October 1st I officially launched this blog and began promoting it. Up until then I had soft launched about a month prior and was slowly and quietly building up content, making little tweaks, and getting a feel for what type of posts you guys want to see. The feedback I got in that time was awesome and second only to all the feedback I’ve gotten in the following days since the official launch. I’ve had so many people explore the site and tell me what they thought. It only fuels me and inspires me to do more! I can’t wait to show you guys everything me and my favorite assistant have planned in the next coming weeks so whether you’ve been around for a while or just discovering Love, Mirian now, thanks for joining me and please stick around because I’m always brainstorming new ways to outdo myself and have fun with fashion.
